The curing window
Many cabinet finishes continue to cure after installation. During that period, saturating cleaners, solvents, and aggressive degreasers can soften, cloud, or mark the finish in ways that are permanent.
Lightly dampened, non-saturating technique with a neutral product is the safe default until the cabinetmaker confirms otherwise.
Edges, joints, and hardware
Residue accumulates where doors meet frames and around hardware. Cleaning those areas properly from the beginning prevents the buildup that later requires aggressive intervention.
